The NDSU Extension | Slope County and the North Dakota Wildlife Federation are inviting landowners, ranchers, and interested community members to attend a special program focused on protecting rangeland from woody encroachment. The event will take place on February 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Marmarth Community Center, located at 911 Main St, Marmarth, ND.
This informative session will feature a panel of experts who have worked on woody encroachment projects and will provide valuable insight into methods for managing invasive species such as juniper trees. Presentations will cover various topics including the benefits of manual removal, prescribed burns, and demonstrations of equipment used in the manual removal process. Additionally, the event will highlight ongoing research efforts related to woody encroachment and rangeland restoration.
This program is a great opportunity to learn practical strategies for maintaining healthy grasslands and protecting vital rangeland resources. All are welcome to attend, and the event is free of charge.
